The Strand opened in 1935 and is now the oldest cinema in Northern Ireland. It is also unique in its distinctive architectural style which merges Art Deco with shipyard influences. The cinema will host an illustrated talk from Northern Ireland Screen’s Digital Film Archive, with material depicting different aspects of life in Belfast throughout the Twentieth Century.

The films shown would cover society, industry, pastimes, significant places and personalities.
