Film clubs at The Strand Arts Centre

We currently have two Film Clubs at The Strand Arts Centre:

The Bigger Boat Film Club

The Bigger Boat Film Club was recently founded by Connor Browne and Andrew Lowry. The Club meets at least once a month, usually the last Thursday of the month in Screen 4 of The Strand. The Thursday Night Classic Film is screened and the group stay behind after to discuss the film.

The film club was set up with the intent of showing people great movies that they have maybe never had the chance to see in the cinema. Andrew Lowry says; “We wanted the venue to be a cinema as that’s how a great film should be seen, on the big screen. And with the emergence of streaming and ppv it’s a reminder that it’s a much better experience with a crowd full of fellow movie enthusiasts.”

Upcoming Bigger Boat meetings are;

Thursday 29th June 2017 – Dr Strangelove

Thursday 27th July 2017- Butch Cassidy and the Sundance Kid

Thursday 31st August- The African Queen

Thursday 28th September- Mr Smith Goes to Washington

Thursday 26th October – Sunset Boulevard

Thursday 30th November- Casablanca

The Club is open to everyone who is interested in film, so just pop along for the movie above and stay for a chat afterwards. Tickets £4 each

Don’t forget to keep up to date with the Bigger Boat Club via their Social Media pages @biggerboatfc and Facebook page
