From Friday 13th October, join the Northern Ireland Paranormal Research Team(NIPRA) at the Strand as they investigate if we have guests who stick around once the movies stop rolling…
NIPRA was founded in 1991 by Warren Coates. The group was originally started by those with an interest in the paranormal, but it soon became the most established and credible paranormal research group in Northern Ireland. They have been featured in books, radio broadcasts and on television.
The team travel to known paranormal hot spots, conducting investigations with the latest research equipment including EFD’S (Electromagnetic Field Detectors). They are also committed to helping people in the community that may have problems with a haunting.
This Halloween, the team will be setting up shop at the Strand to investigate the possibility of after-hours visitors and they need your help to get around the large 80-year-old building. By joining the team on a tour, you’ll get exclusive behind-the-scenes access to one of the oldest cinemas in Ireland and get hands-on experience with the latest paranormal investigation technology.
In the run-up to the 31st October, we are running six 90-minute tours (for those interested in the paranormal) and one 3-hour investigation (for serious ghost hunters) on Halloween night.
And to make the spooky season even better, we’ve scheduled some great movies to watch before the tours, but only if you’re brave enough! Films include horror classics The Poltergeist and Beetlejuice and the 2017 horror release, The Ritual.
You can choose to go to a movie, go on a tour or do the 3-hour investigation. Each activity is sold and priced separately.
Please note that tours are serious investigations into paranormal occurrences and those not following NIPRA instructions will be asked to leave.
Due to the nature of the tour, only over 18’s are permitted to attend and ID may be required. Anyone under the influence of alcohol will be refused entry. Films are subject to age certifications as standard practice.
