Live performance is not a new concept at the Strand. Van Morrison performed on our stage in a skiffle band in the 1950s, and again as the opening act of Strand Arts Centre in 2013. Throughout the 1980s, the Strand attracted top variety acts of the day including Little and Large, The Nolans and The Drifters.
Since 2013, our 180 seat Screen 2 (with 14 feet deep stage) has enjoyed many live acts – music from Linley Hamilton, Dana Masters, Simon Felice and Mercury Rev, live theatre including The Breakfast Club, Withnail and I, Rocky Horror Picture Show and Carny Noir, and popular tribute nights including The Bjorn Identity and The Elvis Spectacular.
If you are a theatre company or promoter and want to chat to us about performing on the stage of Screen 2, please contact our Programme Manager, Johanna Leech, on (028) 9065 5830 or e-mail firstname.lastname@example.org
